A man in his 30’s was transported to Belleville General Hospital Wednesday night following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Harmony and River Roads.
City police say a vehicle travelling north on River Road failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a vehicle heading east on Harmony Road.
The man taken to the hospital is believed to have minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
The roads were slippery and snow-covered at the time of the accident.

A 22-year-old Tillsonburg man had his licence suspended after police caught a vehicle speeding in Norwich over the weekend.

According to Oxford County OPP, the incident occurred when police patrolling Maple Dell Road in Norwich around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday saw a speeding car.

As a result, the 22-year-old Tillsonburg man was charged with stunt driving. That charge comes with a seven-day vehicle impoundment and licence suspension. The individual is scheduled to appear in Woodstock court at a later date.

Three drivers in Quinte West will be off the road for a while after run-ins with local police.

Quinte West OPP officers stopped a vehicle for stunt driving on Byron Street early Sunday morning and ended up charging a Belleville man with numerous offences.
Anthony Michael Boutilier, 41, of Belleville, was charged with stunt driving, possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited, and resisting arrest.
The accused was held for a bail hearing Monday at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

At about the same time, OPP officers also located a “suspicious” vehicle parked in a laneway along Crowe Road and laid charges against a Quinte West man.
Michael James Hendrick, 58, was charged with refusal to comply with breath demand.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to attend court Oct. 3.

Early Saturday morning, police stopped a vehicle on Trenton Frankford Road for a traffic offense, and found a driver under the influence of alcohol.
The driver’s roadside approved screening device readings resulted in a three day licence suspension for a 59-year-old woman from Quinte West but no criminal charges.
Police did not release the woman’s name.

Why Fight Your Traffic Ticket?

Traffic Tickets - Speeding, Careless Driving, Disobeying a Stop Sign, Fail to Move, Fail to Remain at an Accident - can result in License Suspension.

Paying a fine and pleading guilty to a traffic ticket can have many more consequences than a hefty fine amount. Most traffic tickets have demerit points and as little as one conviction can increase your insurance rates.

What People Are Saying About POINTTS™ Belleville

Don’t just take it from us, let our clients do the talking!
POINTTS™ Belleville – “I have had to use Pointts Belleville Office recently to dispute a Traffic charge. I was like many, nervous and apprehensive as to whether I could get anywhere in the courts. The hardest part is to make the call and admit I needed help. Upon entering the office into the uncertainty, I was greeted to the Friendly Personality of Rhonda and I started to feel at ease right away as we talked. I was introduced to Estella and we went on to discuss my case about a possibility anything could be done. She was a very down to earth person and I wasn’t feeling bad for trying to alter my charge. I found both of people Professional and non rigid as some legal people can be. Ultimately, we were successful and my charge was lessened; a great release off my shoulders. I would definitely recommend them to anyone as their experience minimized my stress level greatly after asking them to help. Thanks very much.” Dennis P.

POINTTS™ Belleville – “Thank you for helping me throughout my difficult time. I strongly recommend POINTTS to anyone, for any traffic violation situation. Why am I saying this?
I am a truck driver and I drive for a living. I lost my job, which caused my family to suffer a lot financially. Driving is the only thing that feeds my family. I greatly appreciate the way POINTTS handled my case, all the charges dropped against me. After two months, I got my job back. I just want to say to everyone, please stop shopping around for fighting tickets, just go to POINTTS (Rhonda, Randy or Scott). They are the best. They know what they’re doing. If they can make me win, they can make anyone win anything. Once again, thank you for everything.” Mohammad

POINTTS™ Belleville – “You’re all absolute STARS!!! Thank you so much for all your help, I appreciate it very much. I promise I’ll use cruise control from now on!” Dawn Q.

“…POINTTS Belleville… Dear Rhonda, Thanks a whole bundle to you and William! It’s much appreciated. It took quite some time, à-la court dates (the system!) but was well worth it! I will make a conscious effort on the roads; I’ll also promote you guys for what you’ve done for me. Most sincerely,“ John H.

“POINTTS BELLEVILLE – Thank you for your recent success reresenting me. A driver’s licence is so important to a senior’s independence! (Handwritten note) D. T.

When I called around for advice my Pointts representative was the first company that actually talked to me like I was a human being, and that made everything so much easier. I didn’t have to miss any time working to attend court and deal with this matter and the outcome was better than I could have hoped for! I was kept up to date throughout the process and it was no longer a complicated experience. I will be highly recommending your service to any friends and family who have traffic ticket issues in the future!” Nicole H.

Andrew Y.

POINTTS™ Belleville – “I also want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for your efforts and persistence in getting me an ideal settlement, in Japanese no less. You were an absolute pleasure to work with, and able to think outside the box to come up with effective strategies to resolve my case and get me what I hoped. I am very grateful and can happily move past this issue.
Thanks again for everything.”. Dave S.

POINTTS™ Belleville – “Abbey was quite overwhelmed with the thought of needing to attend court, your expertise avoided that needing to happen. Given our daughter’s age of 21, at the time, and her being a relatively young driver on our insurance this could have affected us greatly. You both have been terrific to deal with, Abbey appreciated your calming affect in conversation, as did I. Once again, Thank you very much for making this whole scenario wipe clear altogether, this was a very pleasant surprise. The cost of POINTTS paid off in every sense of the word.” Sherrie H.

POINTTS™ Belleville – “Earlier this year my husband received a stunt driving ticket for speeding while passing a slow moving vehicle. The potential implications of such a ticket would have been detrimental to our family in regards to a suspended license, fines, insurance implications and lost income for work. POINTTS worked with us to fight for the best possible outcome and thanks to them the ticket was reduced to just a straight speeding ticket. We would happily pay the fee again to have someone so experienced fight for us. Thank you ladies for all your hard work! We are very grateful!” Elena & Mike
